This wine is surely a candidate for the most regal looking label. However, if you do not take to the label then simply enjoy the taste of Tuscany. The current Baron of Brolio is Baron number thirty-two, Francesco Ricasoli and the Castello has been in the family since the 1100s. A rich history indeed. As per tradition, the blend is dominated by Sangiovese, with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon joining in the chorus.
This is a clean Chianti rich that has fragrant thyme, cherry, red berries and more than a hint of charcuterie. There is great balance between the tannin, fruit weight and fresh acid. It is still a youthful looking wine at 6 years so it will still have a life in the cellar or equally good to drink it now.
