Barwang 2007 Chardonnay

If you are looking for a chardonnay that is a good all round crowd pleaser this is it.  This is a wine that I keep coming back to as it is remarkably fresh and well structured. Made from Tumbarumba fruit, it is a drier style of chardonnay, with a strong lean almost flinty minerality but also a surprising generousity of fruit character.  The toasted honey, apricot and pineapple aromas are well matched by the minerally, vanilla, melon and pineapple flavours.  It is a wine that fills the mouth with flavour and lingers.

Toasty, Melons and a touch of oak. Great length. Very good wine. 4.5 Stars or 93 points.

Thanks Andrew, I wholeheartedly agree. Barwang have really forged ahead with the Tumbarumba fruit. Great wine at a very good price.
