Another fine wine from Gemtree and it goes without saying that if you are a fan of the Luna Roja Tempranillo (and you should be), you will enjoy this version of the grape. The Buttery family produces some excellent wines and the care that they have taken with this rosé is evident in the texture and length of the Luna de Fresa. The current interest in dry pale, savoury pinks means is a boon to pink lover’s around the world as there is greater choice available.
For the price that you can find this one, it is hard to beat the spicy strawberry fruit with an intriguing floral lilt. It is a pale pink- juicy, medium bodied and soft in the mouth. The long finish has plenty to offer by way of spice and fruit. It is certainly a versatile wine that will match an impromptu summer picnic by the beach as easily as stylish salmon apetitisers at a winter gathering.
Quickie review «A silky smooth and spicy pale, dry pink that moves with ease from the beach to the most stylish of dining tables.»
