Lambloch is a new, & rather stylish, cellar door in the Hunter Valley. It is an estate surrounded by Hunter nobility both literally & figuratively. Planted with Semillon & Shiraz by the Drayton family in the 1950’s, the vineyard has such noble neighbours as Lake’s Folly & the McWilliams Rosehill vineyard. This gives Lambloch the ability to draw their grapes from vines up to 60+ year old for their various Shiraz wines.
This particular Shiraz cannot be mistaken for anything other than Hunter Shiraz in its medium bodied fresh fruit & spice appeal. Dark cherry fruit & cinnamon entwine silkily on the palate. A crowd-pleasing wine that makes a good dinner companion.
