This vintage of Dom is as superb as always. At this level of quality of wine, the enjoyment should be as complext and layered as the wine itself whether it be red, white or sparkling. The complexity of the toasted brioche, nutty maripan, citrus and creamy butter aromas wrap around some smoky minerality that becomes more evident on the palate. Dom is refreshingly structured beging more medium bodied but the flavours are definitely intense. That smokiness on the front of the palate supports the creamy brioche and limey minerals. There is a lingering layer of warm spicy cinnamon and almonds on the round finish. While the effect is of full flavoured luxury, the vintage does seem a little tight yet and could definitely continue to develop those brioche and nutty characters for quite a while yet.
