This is a richly concentrated and textured offering from Protero in the Adelaide Hills. It is densely coloured and the aromas of chocolate mint, cassis, pepper with some savoury notes offer the expected cool climate complexity. It is certainly generously textured with grippy tannins balanced with body and intensity. The flavours of blackberry, mulberry, pepper, savoury toast and vanilla nuances linger. This wine would stand up to a creamy pepperberry sauce over your steak (medium well at the very most).
