Rymill mc2 2012

Rymill2009mc2landThis wine is one of the Rymill Coonawarra Companions range and is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc made for enjoyment, made for food. Winemaker Sandrine Gimon turns her deft hand to ensuring that the fruit in the bottle remains the hero. Not only expressing sweet ripe, peppery black fruit, but some added complexity of savoury mint, cigar and chocolate.

Elegantly built with silky tannins on entry finishing with some grip. Brown spice and dried herbs meld with fresh berry fruit leave a lasting impression. The mc2 is gluggable now but is built for a mid term sojourn in the cellar.

Date:  August 2014   Price:  $20    Value: $$$   Drink: Now – 7+ years
