Based in the Adelaide Hills, if you have a GPS you can locate the exact location of the vines that produced this wine. (35o 0’54.84”S 138 o 50’3.25”E) A true sense of provenence??? In any case, this is a tasty (or perhaps toasty) Pinot Grigio with a very spicy and toasty and nutty honey and peach nose with a hint of perfume, which has some additional vanilla on the palate. The finish is fine, long and spicy. The acid keeps the toastiness in balance (when it could be a bit overwhelming) and if the still lively 2006 is any indication, the wine will keep fresh in the cellar.
Note: On a recent trip to the Adelaide Hills, I visited The Lane’s seriously stylish cellar door where I tasted this wine – it is definitely worth stopping as it has such a great view and some interesting wines.
