Wine of the Month: Dandelion Vineyards 2013 Wonderland of Eden Riesling

Dandelion Vineyard is a winery that you should get to know better. There is plenty of romance surrounding this wine, starting out with the slick but gorgeous label & evocative name. Apparently the vineyard from which these grapes have been sourced was planted 1912 & up until 2010, had the same custodian for 66 years.

A very pretty wine in its youth with the effusive aromas of spring blossom underlayed with citrus. That citrus drives all along the palate giving this wine a real zippiness plus there is some additional stonefruit ripeness as well. A dry style of Riesling that has fresh natural acid & finishes long and lingering. A natural companion for food, particularly fish and Asian flavours.

Tip:  This is Costco Australia’s Riesling for the season and you can get this wine for $13.68 (price for 18th September, 2013) – my recommendation is to STOCK UP!!!

Date: September 2013    Price: $28   Value: $$   Drink: Now – 7+ years
