Who makes it?
Bodega Torres Vina Sol rosé is a crisp addition to the Vina Sol range. The Torres family has been a part of the fabric of the Penedes wine region since the 1870s. Although, the family were working vineyards prior to this.
The Vina Sol rosé is one that you should really try, particularly if you love dry, crisp fruity pinks and want something other than the typical French rosé. Make sure that you also acquaint or reacquaint yourself with the white Vina Sol too. It is a reminder that parellada grape is worthy of attention outside of being a staple in making cava, Spain’s traditionally made sparkling wine.

How do they make it?
Vina Sol rosé is a Garnacha dominant blend from Catalunya. Winelovers know Garnacha is, of course, the same grape as Grenache which is the grape’s name in France. You will also find the Carinena grape in this blend too. Carinena’s name in France is Cargignan. Both of these grapes have origin stories in Spain. However, they are better known as varieties in France.
The grapes have just 3-4 hours of skin contact and around 2 - 3 grams of residual sugar per litre.
What does it taste like?
It is dry, fresh and with a lighter body and strawberry fruit. There is a light spiciness as well. The wine really is well judged and the fresh acid keeps it crisp and refreshing.
What to drink it with?
Drink Bodega Torres Vina Sol rosé with tapas, charcuterie, seafood, chicken and salad. It will match well for a BBQ wine too with a couple of sausages with bread.
Cheese
There is enough flavour here for this wine to match with a Chevre, or a Saint Nectaire.
