Brokenwood Mistress Block Shiraz 2013

Brokenwood

Up front I have to tell you that this wine is not available just yet, I simply did not want to forget posting this review while waiting for it to become available. As with any Mistress Block release, when it is released get it quick before it sells out, something past vintages have been proven to routinely do.

Just like the more famous Graveyard Shiraz, the Mistress block is a single vineyard Hunter Valley Shiraz with elegance and freshness at heart. Ripe berry and cherry fruit is melded with warm cinnamon, caramel and earth. The medium body is fleshed out with intense fruit and soft powdery tannins. A wine that is a story of finesse now or you could give it a run in the cellar mid term.
