Domaine Terlato & Chapoutier 2007 lieu dit Malakoff Shiraz

A wine with a very intriguing French-USA heritage sourced from the Pyrenees in Victoria.  It is a compelling combination of plush ripe fruit & Rhone like savouriness.  Just sitting and smelling the wine is such a pleasure with ripe blackcurrant, chocolate-covered liquorice, violets and toast with a hint of prunes. With supple and fine tannins, the wine is fresh and has been made with restrained alcohol. The flavours are peppery, perfumed plums and cherry fruit, spicy nutmeg, aniseed and leather. Make sure you give this cooler shiraz some time to open up.
