Frei Brothers Russian River Chardonnay 2017

Frei Brothers

This Frei Brothers Chardonnay is definitely in the good drinking category. The Frei Brothers label is now part of the E&J Gallo portfolio and this wine is from their Laguna Ranch and Del Rio estates. Some barrel fermentation in 20% new oak has given this wine some extra palate weight and a polished texture.

The fuller body has a flush of pineapple and lime zest fresh acid, and is spiced up with ginger nuts biscuitiness and a soft creaminess. Drink it with chicken pie with a tarragon crust or a baked fillet of fish with buttery almond sauce.

Quickie review «If you are looking for a richer style of Chardonnay, it is hard to go past this one for the value.»
