Who makes it?
Louis Jadot is a Burgundy based producer with a long history on the world’s stage. It is a producer renowned for making high quality wines that happen to be quite affordable. Maconnais as a region also extends into Moulin-A-Vent, one of the well regarded villages of Beaujolais. Hence, Macon is one of the regions in France where you can find this blend. Without a doubt, this is an unusual blend outside of the domestic market but it is making people take notice.
How do they make it?
This Jadot Macon Rouge is a 50 / 50 blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir. Having no oak treatment leaves the fruit to shine here.
What does it taste like?
There is a purple vibrancy to this wine. It is unashamedly fruity and fragrant of violets, raspberries, cherries and dried herbs. It is dry and is a fuller medium body red wine. In addition, it is rounded, and fleshy that is well made and plush.
This is one wine that can stand a light chill.
What to drink it with?
Enjoy this with burgers, tomato pasta or a sliced beef salad.
