There is a new addition to the Nyetimber livery sporting a label topped with stylish mint green colour, the same colour adorning ‘The Nyetimber’ the gorgeously remodelled 1960s double decker bus that serves as a makeshift event’s bar. The Cuvee Chérie is the new ‘Nyetimber Demi-Sec’, their contribution to the sweeter side of life and is named after the Head Winemaker, Cherie Spriggs.
The chardonnay fruit has a light waft of honeyed floral perfume that combines with the ‘true to varietal’ apple and lemon. The Cuvee Cherie has some creaminess, thanks to 3 years on lees, and fruity curves that are well balanced thanks to that extra slug of sweetness (38 g/L of residual sugar). While it starts as a soft lush mouthful, it finishes with a clean citrus crispness. It is a wine that proves to be in good company with some salty/spicy dishes, including delicate, bitesize canapes.
