The wines from Pietrodolce are pure Etna! The team only make wines from the native Etna grapes. This Pietradolce rosato has been made from the late ripening Nerello Mascalese, a red wine grape grown on the northern slope of Mount Etna. Some of these vines being bush vines.
This salmon hued Sicilian has a spicy twist to the raspberry and cherry fruit aromas. It is a wine that is as elegant as it is fresh. A dry, silky rosé like this is hard to resist. Particularly with that savoury herb length which also makes this an ideal food wine.
It’s very easy to imagine sitting under a pergola covered in vines and enjoying this with a hot smoked salmon salad. Or a paper thin pizza with prosciutto, black olives and basil.
