Tesco wine shelves have a good range of wines if you know what to look for. Of course, the secret is knowing what to look for. This is not an exhaustive list, however, here are some that you should start with:

White wines

Torres Vina Sol (£8) - Dry, crisp and lighter in style. Click here for full review.

Porta 6 White Wine (£9) -  A well balanced dry white wine blend from Lisbon that is just made for food. It is floral, citrus and stonefruit in character.  Click here for a review of this wine.

Tesco Finest Vinas del Rey Albarino (£12) - Fuller bodied, ripely rounded very plush and creamy white wine that is fruity and soft. Click here for a full review.

Howard Park Miamup Chardonnay (£14) – This is a good choice with your chicken salad lunch. Click here for a full review.

Petaluma Chardonnay (£19) – A fuller bodied Chardonnay with just enough oak to add some flesh and spice while letting the stonefruit and citrus shine.

Pikes Traditional Riesling (£13) - This is one of the Clare Valley's excellent white wine contributions. Bone dry, and fresh lime and lemon with a mineral edge. Click here for a full review.

Paul Jaboulet Aine Viognier (£12) - This is fresh, cream and hits the spot and Jaboulet is also a great producer of this grape. Click here for a full review.

Nepenthe Adelaide Hills Gruner Veltliner £16 – Tropical fruit and floral notes abound in this dry white wine. Spicy on the finish. 

Rosé 

Tesco Finest Argentinian Malbec rosé (£9) – Fuller in body and fragrant with floral notes and cream. Click here for a review.

Kylie Minogue Rosé  (£9) - This is an easy to love dry pink wine. Click here for full review.

Studio By Miraval Rosé (£13) - This is a fresh and fruity wine by Miraval. It is rather good. Click here for a full review.

Mirabeau Pure Provence Rosé (£17) - Ripe and textural with plenty of berry fruit that is almost tropical another dry French pink. Click here for a full review.

Miraval Rosé  (£19) – This is one of the richer textural rosé wines that has a fragrance of wild herbs and spicy strawberries. It is a classic for a reason. Click here for a full review.

Red

Aprimondo Appassimento Sangiovese (£10) – Fuller bodied and rich thanks to the addition of dried grapes. Dark berries and some chocolatey oak.
