The Uncommon wines

The Uncommon wines have gathered a whole lot of media attention this year with the release of The Uncommon Bubbly Rosé. You may have either read about my interview with Henry Connell or watched the video on WinemusingTV.

Until now, I have remained unconvinced that the quality of the canned wines on the market offer much pleasure. At all! Particularly, if you are an Aldi shopper and have discovered the single serve Provencal rosé.

However, with these wines, I would be happy to pop open the occasional can. I might even try to make that Cocchi Rosé cocktail that I tasted at The Coral Room and featured in the video.

Here is my review of these wines….

The Uncommon

The Uncommon Bubbly White – A lightly frizzante dry white wine made from Bacchus, the German grape that has found a welcome home in the English vineyards. The wine is fragrant  with aromas reminiscent of citrus and elderflower. It is crisp and fresh and ready to go if you are after a single serve dry wine. £4.99 from Waitrose

The Uncommon wine

The Uncommon Bubbly Rosé – A fresh and fruity cherry/berry flavoured rosé. It has been made from the traditional sparkling duo pinot noir and pinot meunier, but carbonated in an non-traditional method. With a medium bodied fruit weight, that combo of bubbles and a fresh flush of acid keeps it interesting. If I had to choose between the two, I would choose this one. It was easy to finish the glass. £4.99 from Waitrose
