Who makes it?
This is a spicy rosé from the Côtes du Rhône from Vidal Fleury, a historic Rhone producer.
How they make it?
True to form, the rosé is a blend of typical red trio of grape varieties of the Southern Rhône – Cinsault, Syrah and Grenache. Each variety has been vinified separately and then blended. The wine then spends some time on lees to add some complexity and added body. The fruit is the focus here so there is little other winemaking artifice needed.
What does it taste like?
There is no mistaking that this is at the pink end of the rosé spectrum. And it has plenty of berries and cream on show with a little softening spice from the lees contact.
What to drink it with?
It sits quite lightly on the palate with a fresh flush of crisp acid to pull it together. Drink this wine now and enjoy!
Open it with some friends and you are set.
