Zuccardi Q Malbec

Who makes it?

Zuccardi Q Malbec is another red from the range of immediately drinkable wines from the Zuccardi family. One of Argentina’s well known and well respected wine families. The Q range contains a Tempranillo, a Cabernet Franc, a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon as well as this Argentinian classic, Malbec.

The family also champions red grapes such as Bonarda.

How do they make it?

Zuccardi Q Malbec comes from the family’s Uco Valley vineyards in Mendoza.  Mendoza is a region producing some of the best of Argentina’s red wines. This particular wine is fermented in native yeasts and has matured in oak to smooth it out.

What does it taste like?

This is a classic Malbec. It fairly leaps with vibrant colour. And, as expected, it has plenty of raspberry and cherry fruit that provides a fruity foundation for the floral, spice and oak notes. It is fuller in body and has shapely tannins. It is all kept in line with fresh acid to bring forth the detail. The Q Malbec finishes on lingering dark chocolate and raspberry flavours. It will win hearts this will.

What to drink it with?

This is an excellent choice to match for any red meat, such as a juicy steak, burger or roasted beef. Lamb would also be good. Obviously, a tomato based ragu pasta or a lasagne would certainly be also good. It is smooth enough though to enjoy without food.

Cheese

A pretty and bold wine such as this red is a great match for mature cheddar, comte or other hard cheeses. Or a truffle cheddar.
