What is a more perfect way to finish off a meal than something sweet & warming? The port style wines produced in Australia are usually quite different from Portuguese original & well worth exploring. And Late Bottled Vintage or ‘LBV’ is a great way to enjoy Port without having to buy a ‘Vintage’ wine that needs to be cellared or that has been cellared as they are released when ready to drink.
Sweet, medium bodied without that cloying mouth feel – just the way that Port should be. There is plenty of rich spicy cloves, chocolate & ripe red fruit. The Port is fresh, the tannins are typically grippy & the fruit is ripe, lush & long on the palate. Enjoy this wine with friends with cheese or chocolates after a splendid dinner, or indulge in a glass during some ‘me’ time. A gorgeous Comté Guyere or the traditional match of Stilton will go nicely.
